Attendance Policy
Our attendance policy was developed with the awareness that when appointments are booked, both the clinician and the client will make that time available for therapy and your clinician will spend time and resources preparing for your session.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide us with 48 hours’ notice or a fee will be charged.
Applicable fees:
If between 24-48 hours' notice is provided, you will be charged a $50 fee.
If less than 24 hours' notice or you do not attend your appointment, you will be charged 100% of the session fee.
No rebates are claimable for these fees.
Late arrival: if you arrive late for an appointment, your session will still finish at the scheduled time and the full session fee will apply.
Appointment reminders: we will endeavour to send appointment reminders as a courtesy; however, they are not guaranteed due to potential technical issues. It remains the responsibility of the client to take steps to remember their appointments. Your appointment will not be cancelled if you do not reply to the reminder message, you are still required to contact us if you need to cancel or reschedule.
A late cancelled appointment or non-attendance is a loss to three people:
-
the client who is delaying their therapy process
-
another client who has been on the waiting list
-
the clinician who spent time preparing for the session
More about referrals and rebates
You do not need a referral to book with us, although you will only be able to claim rebates from Medicare if you see your doctor for a referral.
If you are planning to obtain a referral, we accept referrals under a Mental Health Care Plan.
Your GP or psychiatrist will determine if you are eligible for referral under a Mental Health Care Plan.
Under the Better Access initiative, Medicare will provide rebates for up to 10 individual sessions and 10 group sessions per calendar year.
If you have claimed rebates for sessions with other allied health professionals during the calendar year (e.g. psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists), those rebate claims will count toward your maximum number of rebates claimable within the calendar year. Please let us know how many you have claimed already, so that we can make note on our records.
Rebates are only claimable after the full session fee is paid.
Rebates cannot be claimed for missed sessions or late cancellations.
